Ethics in the Gambling World

Are you a rude person by nature? If not, then other people may mistake you for one if you do not know how to behave correctly at the gambling houses. You must know that there are certain unwritten codes of ethics that must be followed while inside a gambling house. If you do not know any of them, then it is time for you to learn. Remember that even ignorance is punishable today.

If you are playing craps in a gambling house, always make sure that your hands are not in the way of the dice when it is being thrown. Even accidentally doing it will appear that you are cheating, so you may want to be careful. If it is your turn to throw the dice, do not attempt to manipulate it in anyway, because the boxman will surely notice. You will get warnings for two offenses, but the third one will cause you an early eviction.

If you are playing the slots, make sure that the machine you take is not occupied. If there is a cup at the gambling machine's lever, then stay away from it. Chances are, there is already a gambling player who is using this machine but is taking a short break. Do not insist in using this machine because when the other gambling player comes back, it will sure cause a lot of trouble. Some gambling players are so attached with their favorite gambling machines; you do not want to test their temper.

When you are playing blackjack instead, learn the hand gestures of the game. You do not want to make a wrong gesture that may cost you a fortune. Assume that any hand gesture that resemble the official blackjack gestures will be interpreted as such. My advice to you is not to move a lot, especially with your hands.

In any table game at a gambling house, abusing the dealer verbally is an open invitation for the security people to pick you up and throw you out. Dealers are paid to entertain you and deal the cards, not to be the victim of your sharp tongue. Most importantly, do not try to hit them, it will surely lead to a lawsuit. You do not want to get into such scandal, do you?

Lastly, even if you think that it is polite to help the dealer in rearranging the cards, refrain from doing so. You are just making their task harder; you are confusing them.

These are just a few of those codes, try to find out more of them.
